  • Parkland Ukrainian Dancers Society

The presence of Ukrainian dancing in Stony Plain, Spruce Grove and Parkland County began 35 years ago with the inception of the Stony Plain Ukrainian Dancers. In 1983, the club formed a registered society known as the Parkland Ukrainian Dancers Society (PUDS) allowing the youth of the community an opportunity to experience and appreciate Ukrainian culture through costume, music and dance.

Currently our club has 6 groups ranging in age from 4 years to adults. No dance experience is necessary. We begin our dance season in September and conclude in celebration at our year end concert in June. Our dancers practice once a week from 45 to 90 minutes depending on age.

Our dancers learn and perform dances representing 5 regions of Ukraine: Poltava, Hutsul'schyna, Bukovyna, Zakarpattia, and Volyn.

Parkland Ukrainian Dancers Society is holding registration.Classes resume on Tuesday, September 11th and 13th. New dancers to attend on Thursday, September 13th from 5:30 pm to 6 pm.Registrations will be taken then. For returning dancers, please come for the group you were in last year.
